For Juliek of the Beethoven's Violin Concerto
By Lindsay Schuville
The long day has ended
Through laughs and cries
Bad times and good
We have remained a whole.
Not letting our problems bring down our happiness.
We have kept high spirits, remaining true to ourselves
the everlasting peaceful music is present throughout our day.
The sounds of harmony bring smiles to our faces, as we
reflect on life as it used to be.
Stripped of our identity, only known to the world as an
animal with a number.
Separation, death, bread and water
The only words common to our language
We cry
Our tears burning our insides
Dusk falls and again another day of torture begins
How much longer will our frail bodies hold up this pain?
